Empowering Ourselves and the Communities We Serve

Status of The National Association of Black Mortgage Brokers

As the founder and current President of the National Association of Black Mortgage Brokers ("NABMB") I wanted to take this opportunity to extend my most heartfelt appreciation to each of you for your support of the NABMB.  Since its inception, NABMB has educated thousands of mortgage originators on mortgage products and services and has undertaken the important task of delivering those products and services to our communities across the Nation.  We have held three conferences and several events that have witnessed industry leaders attend and share their insights and knowledge on the state of the mortgage industry with our membership. As you know, the industry is presently going through tremendous changes including regulatory reform which we were honored to have representatives from Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia brief us on during our Annual Conference this past October.  The downturn in the housing industry coupled with wholesale changes in the mortgage industry and reduced NABMB membership, has made it increasingly difficult for NABMB to continue operating at the highest levels we have achieved.  As a result, it is with great sadness and regret that I write to inform that we have elected to make NABMB inactive as of January 1, 2010.

I have enjoyed my association with NABMB along with my working relationship with all of you.  I offer my most heartfelt wishes for continued success in all your future endeavors and for a Happy Holiday Season.  The friendships and working relationships we have developed will sustain us throughout future challenges and I'm confident our paths will once again cross in the not to distant future.

Again, I thank you for your contributions, assistance and support of the NABMB.

Sincerely,

Joy L. Jamison

President

National Association of Black Mortgage Brokers
